
Sushma Khatri Ranjit, chairperson of Mitra Kunj, the Nepalese Alumni Club of Soviet and Russian Universities, actively participated in the Forum of Foreign Alumni of Soviet and Russian Universities in Beijing. The forum was conducted during 2 – 3 December 2025.
The forum brought together around 200 representatives of the education and healthcare systems from Asian countries and beyond, including university leaders, government officials and alumni associations, to discuss prospects for cooperation with Russia in the fields of education and medicine.
Sushma Khatri Ranjit participated in plenary sessions and round tables devoted to the role of the Russian language in intercultural communication, the development of joint scientific research, the introduction of digital and high tech solutions in education and healthcare, as well as the expansion of partnerships between Russian and Asian universities.
According to her, the forum was truly fruitful, providing an opportunity to meet friends and colleagues from different countries, discuss the strengths and challenges of the Soviet/Russian education system, and exchange ideas on strengthening its position on the global stage.
Mitra Kunj chairperson thanked the Russian House, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Forum of Foreign Alumni for the high level of organisation, noting the warm atmosphere, substantive discussions and wide range of participants – from professors and rectors to leaders of alumni associations. She stressed that such meetings help improve the quality of education, build trust and strengthen ties between Russia, Nepal and other Asian countries.
According to Sushma Khatri Ranjit, the contacts and agreements reached at the forum will serve as a basis for new joint projects of the MitraKunj club with Russian and Nepalese partners in the fields of education and healthcare. The event provided excellent, meaningful platform to reconnect with our shared academic roots, celebrate the legacy of renowned Russian & Soviet Universities, and explore how these institutions can deepen cooperation in research, innovation and academic exchange. Participants also shared diverse perspectives on ‘’ Health Care Management System & Education‘’ in their respective countries offering valuable comparative insights; the forum also underscored the importance of strengthening university partnerships, promoting joint programmes, encouraging faculty and joint mobility, and building long term academic networks that can advance Science Education and International Understanding! Set against the vibrant backdrop of Beijing’s rich history and rapid modern development, the forum fostered a spirit of friendship, dialogue and cross – cultural understanding among professionals committed to advancing their fields and strengthening international collaboration, she mentioned.
