With objectives to informing farmers on agriculture machineries developed in the world market and being available in Nepal market, 5thAgriMech Expo, a grand exhibition is being launched in Bharatpur, Chitwan on January 19, 2022. The show will last till January 22. Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prime Minster Agriculture Mechanisation Project, Agriculture Infrastructure Development and Agriculture Mechanisation Promotion Centre and Nepal Agriculture Machinery Entrepreneurs Association (NAMEA) are the organizing institutions.
Agricultural machines produced in 20 or more countries will be showcasing their products during the event including 150 or more machines and 2,000 equipment, instruments devices and materials. The event will also feature digital instruments useful for farmers. Made in Nepal pavilion will be a dedicated space for the machines and equipment produced in the country.
Domestic production is prioritized in the quality focus exhibition where 100,000 visitors are expected visit. Commercial farmers, medium and small scale farmers must not miss this expo. Likewise, traders, teachers, students and local leaders will also visit in a significant number.
Capacity development and imparting of knowledge to the farmers has been a major agenda of NAMEA. Itis considering carry out knowledge sharing programmes in near future. The government is interested to this agenda, NAMEA source mentions.
The organisers state that such events are needful in all 7 provinces, so NAMEA consider organizing expos keeping in view the need and convenience of farmers from all parts of the country. The organisers further say that 80% requirement may be produced in Nepal. Thus, Agriculture Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd. located in Birgunj, has been closed condition for decades should be reopened by the government itself or hand over to private sector to operationalise.
NAMEA is a social organization consisting of professional entrepreneurs engaged in trading and supplying agriculture machinery, tools, equipment and technology in Nepal. It had successfully organized agriculture machinery for many times in the past in different parts of the country.
