
The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the district administrative office to keep the list of 45 people killed during the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9 at the office of the Chief District Officer (CDO) mentioning them as the “Gen Z martyrs.”
According to Home Ministry sources, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has issuing a circular on Monday instructed all the 77 district administration offices (DAOs) to keep the list of 45 Gen Z martyrs at the office of the CDO. The cabinet meeting on Monday took a decision to this effect, the sources said.
Among 76 people killed during the Gen Z movement in September 8 and 9, Nepal government has declared 45 people as martyrs. The list of Gen Z martyrs has already been published in the Nepal Gazette on November 3, 2025.

Earlier last week, the council of ministers decided to observe Bhadra 23, as per Bikram Era calendar, which falls on September 8 this year, as the Gen Z Martyr Day.
