Salt Trading Corporation, Nepal’s first private-public partnership, is observing its 63rd anniversary amidst a special function at the STC head office Kalimati, Kathmandu on Wednesday, Bhadra 27, 2082 B.S.
STC has been regularly supplying quality consumer goods to the general public in a smooth and effective manner at affordable rates as per its commitment, according to Brajesh Jha, Divisional Manager, of the corporation. Social service and market regularization is our prime objective rather than only making profit, he pointed out.
The corporation has been fulfilling its responsibility of distributing and supplying essential commodities to the people despite unfavourable situation in the past and it will continue to do so in the coming days as well, he remarked. Minister for Commerce, Industries and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has consented to be the chief guest during the anniversary. Industrialists, businessmen, government officials, civil society members, intellectuals and media persons are also invited on the occasion.
On its anniversary, STC will honour different organizations, outstanding individuals, staff members as well as brilliant students with various awards. One boy student and one girl student, who are the children of the employees securing top position in the examinations will receive scholarships from the STC on the occasion.
A blood donation programme was organized on Sunday ahead of the anniversary as part of its corporate social responsibility. Altogether 73 people including the staff of the corporation donated blood on the occasion.
