The Ministry of Forests and Environment has declared red monkeys and wild boars as wild animals harmful for agriculture. The provision will remain effective for one year. Following to this announcement, there will be no legal action against farmers who happen to kill red monkeys and wild boars while driving or chasing them from their fields.It reflects that killing by intention will not be granted. Moreover, some conditions are applicable for the incidents to be taken as not illegal.
Earlier, the ministry had declared wild boar as a wild animal harmful to agriculture for one year on November 7, 2080. The ministry has declared both the animals as agricultural harmful wild animals for one year with effect from January 10.
Ram Chandra Kandel, director general of the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Department stated that red monkeys and wild boars have been declared harmful to agriculture because they damage crops.
Five conditions of killing notorious monkeys and wild boarshave been taken into account for not to be taken as illegal.
(1) If red monkeys and wild boars cause damage to crops or property, farmers can chase, chase or catch them alone or collectively
(2) National Park Office, Wildlife Reserve Office, Game Reserve Office, conservation area office or the nearest office under that office, concerned local level ward To inform the office
(3) monkey or wild boar died while chasing, hunting or catching at least five local people including one representative of the concerned ward should be buried in Rohwar, to be informed to the relevant office
(4) The data of dead monkeys and wild boars is reported by the office every two months to the Ministry of Forests and Environment, National Parks and
(5) To be given to the Department of Wildlife Conservation, the relevant state Ministry and the State Forestry Directorate, the Panchakirti price based on the weight of the dead baleen should be determined and the amount deposited in the revenue, which can be used except for commercial purposes within the respective wards of the local level
(6) National Wildlife Reserve, Hunting Reserve, Conservation Red monkeys and wild boars shall not be chased, chased or caught in the area or national forest area
According to the notification published in the Gazette, wild boars other than red monkeys and small breed boars that come to fields, barns, and fields are declared as agricultural harmful wild animals.
In rule 36 of the regulation, there is a provision that the Ministry of Forestry can declare wild animals or birds harmful to agriculture in a specific area for a specific time. It is stated in the said rule that wild animals or birds declared harmful to agriculture can be chased, chased, caught or killed without a permit in fields, barns, fields subject to specified conditions and restrictions.
