President Paudel visits Japan

Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel has embarked on an official visit to Japan from February 1 to 4 leading a Nepalese delegation. President Paudel was visiting Japan at the invitation of Japanese government on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations, according to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.

During the visit, President Paudel is scheduled to pay courtesy call on Japan’s Emperor Naruhito at Imperial Palace in Tokyo on February 3. Similarly, he will hold meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae on the same day. As per the scheduled President Paudel will participate in the special welcome programme to be organised by the Japan government in the pretext of celebrating the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations on February 2.

Japan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Horii Iwao, will pay a courtesy call on President Paudel in Tokyo. President Paudel is also scheduled to participate in a meeting with Japanese Business community.  

President Paudel will be accompanied by his spouse Sabita Paudel and high government officials. The President is scheduled to return home on February 4.
