Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with Nepal Art Council is all set to celebrate Nepal Art and Culture Festival for three weeks starting from September 5, 2025 coinciding with the Indrajatra Festival of Kathmandu with the involvement of four municipalities of Kathmandu valley.

A variety of programmes such as street dance, food festival, music show and art exhibition will be organized in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kirtipur municipalities on the occasion with a view to attracting both domestic as well as international tourists, according to Nepal Tourism Board. The cultural heritage, art, traditional music and cultural dances of the Kathmandu Valley will mainly feature during the festival, according to Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board.

President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel will inaugurate the prograrmme with the slogan “The magnificiant art, culture, cuisine and cultural festival of Nepal” on September 5, amidst a special ceremony. “The festival will offer the tourists an opportunity to taste cultural products, art and artifacts, music, dance, traditional cuisine, and living culture of the valley.”

Indrajatra is one of the main festivals of Kathmandu valley, which features, street dances, mask dances, cultural presentation, traditional music, chariot pulling, traditional feast etc.

“The aim of the festival is to popularize Nepal as a preferred cultural destination in the world to promote tourism,” remarked CEO Joshi. “We should preserve and protect our culture, tradition and traditional art and architecture. We hope such type of festival will increase the number of tourist inflows to Nepal by positioning Nepal as one of the prime tourist destination in the world.”
