Nepali Congress, the main opposition party in the Parliament, has alleged that the “action taken by Balendra Shah led government against former Prime Minister K.P. Oli and then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has been selective.”

“Instead of seeking resolving the issue through impartial investigation the government tried to complicate the process of giving justice,” said a statement issued by Nepali Congress spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise. “It is our stance that the government should conduct impartial and transparent investigation into the incidents of September 8 and 9 and follow due legal procedure,” said the oldest party. If the government loses patience and takes decision in a hurry, it will drag the country towards further conflict and instability,” Nepali Congress has warned.
