With most political parties and candidates appearing busy preparing election manifestoes, people expect poll pledge to be realistic and action-centric.
“We are fed up with a wish list or pledge-roll of earlier manifestoes which all parties and candidates forgot conveniently after the election,” said some voters in Kathmandu.

Manifestoes should actually reflect in brief what candidates or parties seek to do or perform if they are elected to power; it should provide voters clear reason why they seek their support for, observed a media analyst.
According to a senior politician in Kathmandu manifestoes in Nepal are no more than rituals; they are published just to maintain tradition.
