Four children were seriously injured when an unidentified object they were playing suddenly exploded at Birendra Bazaar area of Rupani Rural Municipality in Saptari district Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred when the children who were on a picnic collected fodders found an object looked like a firecracker near Dudhaila river. When they picked up the object, it suddenly exploded injuring Kabir Magar, 16 and other three children aged 9,11 and 13, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur Puri of Saptari District Police Office.
The incident occurred when the children found an object looked like a rocket used as firecracker in the forest and as they picked up the object it exploded injuring four of them. The children are undergoing medical treatment at Madhes Province Hospital at Rupani and their condition is out of danger, said the police officer. The police said they are conducting further investigation into the matter.
