Bishajari Taal is an extensive oxbow lake system in the buffer zone of the Chitwan National Parks, a protected area in the Inner Terai of central Nepal. This wetland covers an area of 3,200 ha (7,900 acres) at an altitude of 286 m (938 ft). The Mahabharat mountain range (lower Himalayan Range) is located north of the lake, which is itself north of the Siwalik hills. In August 2003, it has been designated as a Ramsar site.

Bishajari Taal is home to some of the most exotic birds and crocodiles. Visitors take a boat ride and go for fishing on the lake. It is very famous for bird watching as Migratory Siberian birds folk around this lake in the winter season. On a bright sunny day, number of gharials/crocodiles bask in the sun on the shores of the lake.
This lake is one of the sites travellers highly like to explore and relax. The lake is not extensively publicized, which is one of the negative aspects because this will hamper the possibilities of entertainment for the travellers and also protect the flora and fauna around there. It can be a fantastic tourist destination because it is simply gorgeous and carries some good reason for its name. Similarly, on the lake’s shores, there are a few benches and waiting houses however the proper sanitation has not been carried out.
Since it is surrounded by beautiful vegetation and has millions of aquatic species, Bishajari Taal can be a nice place for nature lovers. The lake and the surrounding area will be fantastic tourist destinations if the relevant authority shows some care for them.
