Former PM Oli discharged from hospital

CPN -UML Chair KP Sharma Oli returned home on Saturday after he was discharged from the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.  He underwent a surgery to remove gallbladder stone.

According to hospital Spokesperson Dr Gopal Sedhai Oli was discharged from the hospital on Saturday after completing the treatment. He has been prescribed for home rest until he fully recovers.

Oli, who was admitted to the hospital on March 28, underwent the surgery on April 13.

Soon after the arrest on March 28, from his house at Gundu of Bhaktapur district in the east of Kathmandu, he was admitted to the hospital as his health condition deteriorated. Even after the Supreme Court ordered his release, Oli remained in the hospital where he underwent treatment.

Oli’s wife Radhika Shakya filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding his release. The police arrested Oli from his house in Bhaktapur district, on the basis of recommendation made by a probe commission that held Oli and then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak responsible for crackdown against Gen Z movement in September last year in which 76 people were killed.
