Political parties and candidates are currently competing keenly to lure voters to their side. Social media has been the most popular tool to approach voters in most cases.
Narratives prepared by parties and candidates to attract the attention of people appear great and promising, said a senior politician. “The trend to issue individual candidates’ pledge is also picking up.”
The election campaign scenario is interesting: Old parties in new outfit! New parties with rich promise of delivery and change! Experienced politicos with changed organizational leadership and policies! Old generation leaders vowing to serve Gen Zs!
A number of other parties and candidates are also campaigning with promise to perform this time and feeling sorry not to have done well in the past.
Women candidates, although limited in number, are campaigning in a standard competitive manner. Their general appeal for voters is really great. They are depicting in practice that female candidacy is as strong and competitive as male candidacy and it should be promoted in Nepal.
Youths have captured public attention throughout the country’s constituencies. Trends of campaigning indicate that they appear as impressive as the seasoned candidates.
Issues – political, economic and social – have also featured in poll campaigning. Parties and candidates have sought to respond to them as best as they can.
