Curfew has been lifted in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat district from 10 am Monday as the situation returned to normal. The district administration office had imposed curfew from Saturday after clashes erupted between two groups over a wedding procession dispute. The curfew was extended till Monday morning to control the situation. The market places, vehicular movement and educational institutions came into operation after the curfew was revoked.A peace rally was organized in Gaur Monday morning in a bit to restore peace and good will in the area.
Meanwhile, the local administration has imposed curfew in Birgunj metropolitan city of Parsa district in a bid to curb possible clashes. The curfew order is in place from 9:45 am on Monday for indefinite period.
According to Chief District Officer of Parsa, Bhola Dahal, the curfew order was issued after tension surfaced between the two groups over the issue of parking at Shreepur area of Birgunj metropolitan city on Sunday. The curfew was enforced until further notice as per the legal provision. People’s movement, gatherings, rally and assemblies have been banned in the assigned area.
