
Himalayan Everest Insurance Ltd. has stated that it has so far paid insurance claim of Rs. 220 million for property damaged during the Gen Z protests on September 7 and 24.
The insurance company has paid Rs 217,44,45,831 out of 287 claims claimed for compensation. “We have initiated the process to pay the claims of the properties damaged during the Gen Z agitation as soon as possible,” the company says through a press statement.
Chief of the Claims Department, Rojraj Luitel, said that the company is committed providing simple and easy claim payment within the regulatory provisions.
In addition to this, the claim payment being done with high priority will be resumed after the public holiday of Bada Dashain. “The company has initiated the prompt payment process for the convenience and financial relief of the insured customers keeping in mind the difficult situation,” the statement reads. “This effort is aimed at ensuring financial relief and protection to the insured in difficult situation.”
The company has also requested the insured who is yet to pay the compensation claim after being insured through Himalayan Everest to contact the nearest branch or central office of the company convenient to them. Paying tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives during the agitation, the company has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
