Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli is embarking on an official visit to Thailand to attend the Sixth Summit of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) which is being held in Bangkok from April 1 – 5, 2025.

This will be Prime Minister Oli’s first visit to Thailand after assuming the office. Prime Minister Oli on Sunday discussed with former Prime Minister, former Foreign Ministers and foreign affairs experts regarding various issues relating to the visit, according to the Prime Minister’s secretariat. During the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Singhdurbar, they advised the Prime Minister for taking maximum benefit from the visit in the areas of economic development, connectivity, energy, tourism promotion and cultural exchanges.

The Prime Minister will utilize the suggestions received from experts in maximizing national interest and at the same time stressing on the need for activating the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and Non-aligned Movement. at this moment, said the Prime Minister’s secretariat.

Prime Minister Oli is paying the five day official visit to Thailand leading the Nepalese delegation to Thailand at the friendly invitation of his Thai counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
