In an attempt to promote spiritual tourism Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) is collaborating with Purna Yoga Centre to organize a four day yoga retreat in tourist hub of Western Nepal, Pokhara from October 16 to 19 2024. At least 100 yoga enthusiasts from both Nepal and abroad will participate in the four day retreat in which renowned yoga experts from within and outside the country will impart training on theoretical and practical aspects of ancient wisdom yoga, according to the organizers.

Vegetarian and organic foods will be served and devotional songs as well as relaxing music will be played during the retreat. By organizing this event Nepal wants to position itself as one of the favourite yoga and spiritual destinations in the global travel market, remarked Binayak Shah, president of HAN. The retreat will be organized annually with a view to promote spiritual tourism, he added.

“The art and science of Yoga originated from the Himalayas and Lord Shiva is the first yogi who taught yoga to the humans,” he pointed out. “Now we want to cash on this ancient wisdom which is believed to have originated from the Himalayas, the abode of Lord Shiva.”

Discourses and practical sessions on Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation and the historical background as well as philosophical wisdom linked to Yoga will be given to the participants on the occasion. Yoga not only helps to improve our physical and mental health, but it also enhances spiritual well-being of the individual and brings peace in life,” remarked Lata Tulachan, a Nepali origin yoga instructor from USA.
