As of now, Nepal has reported 67.3 percent completion of rice planting for the season. Official data shows that rice has been cultivated in 940,500 hectares of land across the country.
According to provincial data, the progress is as follows: 61.7 percent in Koshi, 69.2 percent in Bagmati, 75 percent in Gandaki, 66.7 percent in Lumbini, 78 percent in Karnali, and 86 percent in Sudurpaschim Province, said Hari Bahadur KC, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. This week, rice planting has accelerated due to adequate rainfall.
