Nepal’s largest transformer manufacturer Nepal-Ekrat Engineering Company Pvt. Ltd. also known as NEEK has launched country’s first ‘Package Substation’ Transformer for Nepal and Bhutan. NEEK has been producing reliable transformers in Nepal for last 29 years. An event was held in Kathmandu to launch the product on May 02, 2024.
The event was chaired by Kush Kumar Joshi, managing director of NEEK. Ajaya Kumar Mudbhary, director-NEEK, Deepak Sharma of Schneider Electric (India); Kul Man Ghising, managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Manoj Silwal, deputy MD of NEA and other distinguished guests were present on the occasion.
Over 220 industry experts participated in the unveiling of the Package Substation.
During an event, Kulman Ghising, managing director of NEA said that NEEK’s initiative in the new substations is a significant technological advancement in the power distribution sector.
Kush Kumar Joshi, emphasized the crucial role of the Package Substations in various sectors, emphasizing their potential to reduce electrical mishaps and technical issues.
Schneider Electric’s representative Deepak Sharma, highlighted their pioneering role in supplying PSS in Nepal. Proud of their partnership with NEEK, Schneider aims to expand its projects. Mr. Sharma emphasized the urgency of decarbonization in light of increasing energy demand, noting Schneider’s focus on sustainable solutions, including data centers, EV charging stations, and ongoing HT Underground cabling projects tailored for Nepal.
