
Bansuri Baja Khala, situated at Ward No. 10, Chittapol, Suryabinayak has trained 39 people in playing traditional flutem called Bansuri. The training programme was organized with a view to preserving local Newari art and culture, according to the organizers. The Baja Khala started the training programme in the month of Bhadra involving people aged between 11 and 53 to preserve Nepali culture.
Chairman of Ward No. 10, Suryabinayak Municipality Shivaram Raut distributed certificates to those who completed the flute playing training amidst a programme organized in Suryabinayak in the presence of Mayor of Suryabinayak Basudev Thapa. On the occasion chief instructor of the training programme Dharma Munikar was also honoured with certificate of appreciation. Besides flute Munikar has been involved in providing training in Dhime, Baya Khin and Kocha Khin among others to hundreds of people since 2057 B.S.
