Fire incidents have increased in the country with the dry and windy weather. On Saturday, the fire in Morang, Tehrathum and Bhojpur caused huge loss of life and property. 3 children of the same family were killed in a fire in Bhojpur. Kedar Karki’s 5-year-old son Pranish Karki and Ramesh Karki’s 7-year-old daughter Diptika and 3-year-old son Deunis Karki died. The police said that the children who were playing were found by the fire from the shed and they died.
Similarly, in Taksar of Bhojpur, 8 houses were completely burnt when the fire started from the forest and entered the settlement. Bhojpur Municipality 12, Taksar’s Malebanse forest fire caused the damage when it entered the settlement.
19 houses were burnt down in the fire in Rangeli of Morang. The fire started around 2:30 in the afternoon from the cow shed of Jungli Murmu of Rangeli Municipality-3 Babusaheb society. 29-year-old Talabeti Murmu suffered minor injuries while trying to remove goods from the house. 25 families from 19 households were displaced by the fire. The fire has caused a loss worth 50 lakhs. The fire was brought under control after about 3 hours with the help of fire brigade, police, armed police and locals.
Similarly, 4 houses were burnt in a fire in the village near Sankranti Bazar in Atharai rural municipality-1 of Tehrathum. The houses of local Devi Gautam, Balram Gautam, Ganesh Gautam, Govind Gautama and 2 cowsheds were burnt.
The main cause behind fire is negligence. Rising temperature and wind also contribute in this matter. The wind easily carries the fire from one place to another. Although it is mandatory to use fire, if special care is not taken in its safety, fire will not take long to cause great damage. Due to the fire itself, there can be a huge loss of property. Fires are also caused by children’s hands due to not keeping fire extinguishers and lighters safe.
