Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit 2023 concludes

Indo-Nepal Wedding summit 2023 that began in a posh hotel in Kathmandu on Friday with a view to promoting Nepal as a prime wedding destination concluded on Saturday. Around two dozen wedding bianca (wedding organizers) of India and representatives of hotel and resorts in Nepal took part in the two day summit.

The summit was organized with a view to positioning Nepal as an important wedding destination in South Asia, according to the organizers.

During panel discussions at the summit wedding planners of India, prestigious hotels and resorts of Nepal and various other private as well as public stakeholders discussed policy level and legal issues as well as building physical infrastructure to develop Nepal as a prime wedding destination.

On the occasion Sumti Garg, chairman of Event and Entertainment Management Association of India, expressed the view that due to social and cultural proximity, open border and natural beauty Nepal can be an attractive wedding destination for Indians wishing to arrange special wedding events.

He, however, underscored the need for developing necessary infrastructure and easing customs procedures to the Indian wedding organizers for promoting such events.

On the occasion CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Dhananjaya Regmi said that Nepal is ready to address issues related to promoting Nepal as a wedding destinations including customs waiver and building adequate infrastructures.

Last year, Nepal’s star hotels hosted around 150 wedding events from India, generating a business equivalent to Rs. 300 crores, according to a data released at the press meet organized ahead of the event.
