Kami Rita climbs Everest for record 29 times

Veteran mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa Sherpa has made a history on Sunday by scaling the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest for record 29 times. The fifty five year old veteran summitter has reached the peak of the Everest at 7.25 am on May 12, 2024, according to Rarkesh Gurung, director at Tourism Department, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal.

The expedition was organized by Seven Summit Treks. Along with Kami at least 20 Summiteers had scaled the Everest Sunday morning, according to Thani Guragain, a senior staff at Seven Summit Treks.

He had climbed the Everest for the first time in 1994. Earlier last year, he made two successful attempts to scale the Everest for the 27th and 28th times in the same season. In this way, he broke his own record to become the person who climbed the Everest for most number of times.
