Ex-Finance Minister Acharya for flexible policy to attract investment

Ex- Finance Minister Mahesh Acharya has said a comprehensive campaign is needed to improve the country’s economy.

Taking to media persons in Chitawan on Monday, the Nepali Congress leader said such campaign should be capable of restoring the confidence of business community and develop Nepal as a destination for foreign investment. He advised the government to come up with flexible polices to attract investment from home and abroad. “It is necessary to promote investment atmosphere in the country and escalate the scope and increase opportunities for income-generation within the community to make the economy vibrant,” he said. Country’s export rate is getting shrunken while it simultaneously experiences a rising dependence on imports. Lack of revenue mobilization as per the expectations has led to a precarious expenditure structure, suggesting a quick intervention, pointed out Acharya.
