Women journalists’ role is important for economic development : FM Mahat

Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat expressed the view that it is not enough to make efforts by the government unless all the sectors and sides cooperate and collaborate for bringing reform in the economic sector of the country. We have seen symptoms of gradual improvements in the national economy and the government expects cooperation from the private sector as well in this regard,” Finance Minister Mahat said while inaugurating the newly formed organization Female Economic Journalists Association (FEJA) in Kathmandu on Monday.

He also underscored the need for women’s empowerment for attaining economic development of the country. “The women journalists working in the field of economic reporting can play an important role in this regard,” he pointed out.

Speaking on the occasion president of FEJA, Sharmila Thakuri said, that the association was formed with the objective of enhancing skill and capability of women working in the area of business reporting.
