Dr. Om Foundation had conducted a school level competition “School Health Programme”. This was organized on the occasion of Saraswati Puja and Valentine Day (both happened on the same day this year).

Quiz contest, art competition, poems on anti smoking and anti tobacco consumption were the subjects of the programme.  

The result was made public on Saturday which was concluding of the programme as well.

Five student were declared winners in the poem writing. The winners declared are Siddhika Singh of class V of Clinton School, Chabahil, Purnima Gautam of class class VII of St Gems High School, Itahari, Eva Paudel of class VII of St Mary’s School, Lalitpur, Shashrika Khatri of class IX of John Dewy High School, Maharajgunj and Chandani Pal of class XII of Capital College and Research Centre, Lalitpur. The winners were awarded with a purse of ten thousand rupees to each winner.

The competition on poem writing was participated in by student upto class XII from all over the country.

Likewise, in the painting competitions, Prishti Pun of class V of Deep Bording School, Butwal and Devesh Pahadi of class IV of Fishtail Academy, Pokhara were declared winners. The runner ups declared were Pallavi Bhattarai of class IV of NIST School, Bhaktapur, Jesica Thapa of class VI of Ripumardini Higher Secondary School, Kathmandu, Smriddhi Shrestha of class VI of Vedic Scholl, Bhaktapur, Elina Budhathoki of class VI of Salyan Public School, Salyan, Ankit Sah of class VI of South Zone Secondary school, Birgunj and Salin Acharya of class VII of Om Shanti Academy, Chitwan.

The painting competition on awareness of smokers, tobacco chewing and impact on friends, family and society was participated in by students upto class VIII from across the country. The winners were given rupees ten thousand while runner ups were giver two thousand five hundred to each winners.

The winners will receive medal and certificates from the organisers.

The first prize of the quiz contest was bagged by Kathmandu Model College, Kathmandu, second prize by Siddhartha Bansathali Institute, Kathmandu, and third proze was won by Gyan Jyoti Secondary School, Birgunj and Panchodaya Secondary School, Dhanagadhi.

The first prize winning team bagged rupees fifty thousand, second prize winners bagged thirty thousand, third prize winners twenty thousand. Two teams stood at the third position shared the prize money equally.

The quiz contest was participated in by students of upto class XII.

The quiz contest was conducted virtually.

Dr. Om Murti Anil, MD, FACC is an Interventional cardiologist, author of healthy life styles. He also a social media personality He uses social media to raise health awareness for the prevention of heart disease.

He was born in Dhamaura village of Mahottari district of Nepal, and received his primary education there in the village. He earned his MBBS from College of Medical Science, Kathmandu University, Doctor of Medicine degree from Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University and Doctorate of Medicine (DM Cardiology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He is fellow of the Society of cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention in the US and the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Anil is the founder of Om Foundation.

Earlier the foundation had successfully conducted a campaign titled ‘Smokers cannot be selfish’ and ‘My small dedication, which can be a larger gift to the beloved one’. Inspiring by the campaign a number of people from abroad and home have committed stop smoking and tobacco consumption.

Thus, this has been considered as an innovation in the behavioural transformation and better health of the society.
