With Prime Minister Sushila Karki appearing dedicated to one point focus on the Election for House of Representatives, politicos have begun to feel some constructive move ahead in the poll ecology. Stakeholders of election also find in PM’s approach of engaging all concerned with election in dialogue in one way or the other a devoted approach of a determined visionary. PM Karki has been assigned not to give any judge’s verdict but to create a situation in which Nepali voters can elect their representatives who will shape the country’s future and governance. The series of dialogue she initiated for political parties, Gen Z activists and initiators, election officials, security officials and civic bodies are all encouraging and directly pointed towards election affairs. PM Karki’s consultation with Chief Ministers of seven provinces could also be taken as a sincere attempt to engage all concerned. Participants in such exercise feel inspired and get re-energized. The process should continue until the task is completed. The latest Supreme Court decisions also indicate that the government should not engage itself in actions or policies which have long term effect.  The same could be taken as a forceful reminder to the Interim Government about its task and scope of its power. Political parties which play main role in election and governance should now come forward trusting the Interim Government and facilitating it effectively to organize general election. They cannot afford to show indifference in this regard for election is the only way to return the country back into democratic course. Political leaders should specially analyze why they failed to avoid the situation of political vacuum, security vacuum and governance vacuum during the Gen Z revolution. A thorough review of how they did politics and how they ruled for over three decades would be essential for them to be able to chart new way to go forward after the Gen Z revolution. Learning lessons from the past the parties could contribute more effectively to future politics of the country. Interim Government should also understand that they have to regard political parties as main stakeholders of election and future governance of the country. The values of political parties in a democracy are really great and no other institution can play that role. May the collective move towards voters be a success!
