Nepali politics has found a fresh move and smart dynamism these days through active participation of youths particularly the Gen Z ones. Politicos trained in old time and versed in traditional style have found it challenging and difficult to cope with

The tri-partite talk among political parties, representatives and activists of Gen Z movement and the Interim Government, held under the auspices of Prime Minister Sushila Karki the other day, gave that impression to most.

One senior politico in Kathmandu remarked: the Baluwatar talk this time was unique for it brought together revolutionaries, old party second rank leaders and fresh Interim Government. Most usually seen public leaders were absent. This in itself was one –off in over-three -decade – political panorama.

According to a senior political analyst, the exchange of views during such conversation facilitates all three: Gen Z could be motivated to translate their revolution force into a real time working political party. Old parties could explore way to change their way of politics to suit emerging trends. Interim Government could find means to engage all stakeholders of politics in the overall election process and complete its mission.

According to informed sources, all three were one in point of completing electoral works on schedule to choose people’s representatives who will ultimately chart future course to bring about stability and continuity in politics and governance. All appreciated PM Karki’s initiative to bring them together for a constructive dialogue.

Youths, while seeking immediate results in various aspects following the change in government including action against those responsible for violence and corruption, expressed determination to go to polls in organized way.

Second rank traditional party leaders demanded security calling it as the prime factor for determining peaceful and healthy, democratic and fear-free poll atmosphere.

The government assured them about free election without any fear or doubt. PM Karki expressed iron determination to clear way to politicos and voters on the schedule.

The talk offered all three to understand each other in real time and in an open atmosphere. Because the three are important in contemporary politics, their joint talks could make sea- difference in the complex of polls.
