India helps to construct monastic school building in Lomanthang

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava and Tasi Nharbu Gurung, Chairman, Lomanthang Rural Municipality jointly laid foundation stone for the construction of Dormitory Building for Lowo Nyiphug Namdrol Norbuling Monastic School at Lomanthang Rural Municipality, Mustang district situated near the holy Muktinath Temple in North-West Nepal.

The dormitory is being constructed with the government of India grant assistance at the cost of NRs. 41.4 million, according to a press release issued by Indian Embassy, Kathmandu. The grant assistance will be utilized for the construction of the two story dormitory building with various facilities.

The new building would be useful for providing better education and accommodation facilities to the students of the monastery as well as create improved environment for the learning as also would contribute to the development of education and religious activities and help in preserving Buddhist culture and tradition in this region.
