Singer-composer Shanti Ram Rai honored at solo concert in Kathmandu

Singer and composer Shanti Ram Rai’s solo concert was organized in the capital city. At the solo evening organized on Sunday night at the Sagarmatha Hall of the Nepal Police Club in Bhrikutimandap, he mesmerized the audience by presenting his new and old hit songs.

During the program, composer Mahesh Khadka honored Rai by presenting him with a Rudraksha bead-adorned crown and a bouquet, conferring upon him the title of ‘Music Maharaja of Musical Creation’. Rai began his performance at the event with the song ‘Timi Tare Bhir Ma Ta Lehara’.

Rai, who performed eight different songs, was also accompanied in singing by renowned singer Smita Pradhan. He performed 21 songs from his entire career throughout the program. Singers Shambhu Rai, Uday Sotang, Manila Sotang, Satyakala Rai, Roshan Rai, Kankaishtha Rai, Rupkumar Rai, Benuka Rai, Ashok Mukarung, followed by the popular contemporary singer Junu Prasai and Manma B. Rai, made the event grander by singing Shanti Ram Rai’s evergreen compositions.

Binusha Rai, Alina Rai, and Alina Udash sang chorus for all the songs. The program was organized by the Khotang Artists’ Society, Kathmandu.
