Acting PM Singh stresses on result-oriented works

Issuing directives to the chiefs of departments and projects under the Ministry of Urban Development acting Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh has urged them not to delay any works related to their respective offices. Interacting to the heads of different departments and projects in the ministry on Monday Singh, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, directed them to work in such a manner so that people directly felt the results.

“The people should feel that the works being carried out by the subsidiary bodies of the ministry are result-oriented,” he pointed out. Taking the stock of the progress made by various projects being operated under the ministry Singh also advised them to maintain coordination with other stakeholders to speed up the works. I have initiated the discussion so as to learn the exact situation of the progress made by various projects, Singh maintained. He also asked them to move ahead maintaining team spirit so as to make the works result oriented. DPM Singh asked them to move forward by preparing a calendar of works based on the work performance agreement reached with the Prime Minister. The ministry will coordinate if any problem arises while implementing the works as per the calendar, he assured. On the occasion the heads of departments and projects informed acting PM Singh regarding the progress and challenges they were facing as well as the complexity of the issue due to the presence of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development Maniram Gelal and other senior officials were also present during the interaction programme.

Heads of Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization, Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, Department of Local Infrastructure, Rastriya Awas Company Ltd., Federal Secretariat for Construction and Management among others were present on the occasion.
