The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that Covid-19 no longer represents a “global health emergency”. Three years after the declaration of emergency, the corona epidemic has ended. WHO declared a ‘health crisis’ on January 30, 2020, after the corona virus spread from Wuhan, China, infected people in many countries across the world. The 15th meeting of the organization’s emergency committee recommended declaring an end to the public health crisis.

“It is with great hope that I announce the end of the global health crisis of COVID-19,” said WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. According to the data of the WHO, at least 7 million people have died from Covid-19 worldwide. Vaccines were one of the major turning points in the pandemic. According to the WHO, 13 billion doses have been given, allowing many people to be protected from serious illness and death. But in many countries vaccines have not reached most of those in need. More than 765 million confirmed Covid infections have been recorded worldwide. Corona epidemic has killed 12 thousand 31 people in Nepal alone. Corona infection has been confirmed in more than 1 million people in Nepal so far through PCR tests.
