A group of film actors have registered a petition at International Feature Film Committee of Oscar to halt screening of the film recommended by Nepal and to review the decision. Nepali film ‘Anjila’ has been recommended to the 98th edition of the prestigious Oscar Award being organized by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
As the country is passing through a political turmoil, we urge the Oscar to review its decision and halt the entry of film Anjila recommended by the Oscar Selection Committee of Nepal, they pointed out. They have also asked the Oscar to extend the deadline of the competition. Film actor Deepak Rauniyar among others have signed in the petition.
