The Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Government of Nepal and Project Implementing Agencies of Government of Nepal on Friday signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for undertaking 12 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal under the grant assistance of Government of India in Education, Health, Agriculture, Drinking Water and Culture Sectors.
These 12 projects being undertaken with a total grant assistance of NRs. 474 million from GOI include construction of school building of Rajya Laxmi Secondary School, Okhaldhunga, school building of Swornantaral Basic School, Okhaldhunga, construction of Arun Multipurpose Foundation Building, Bhojpur, construction of Nepal Rastriya Secondary School Multi-purpose building, Dailekh and construction of school building of Janata Secondary School, Saptari.
Other projects include construction of school building of Panchayat Secondary School, Morang construction of Bachhauli Secondary School building, Chitwan, construction of Basepu-Hulu Water Supply Project, Solukhumbu, construction of school building of Tribhuvan Secondary School, Sunsari; construction of building for Agriculture Promotion Centre for Food Grain Collection and Distribution Centre, Bajura, construction of Health Post-Birthing Centre, Dhading and construction of Operation Theatre Building of Rapti Eye Hospital, Dang.
These projects shall be implemented through Local authorities of Government of Nepal such as Metropolitan City, Sub-Metropolitan City, Municipalities and Rural Municipalities, according g to a press release issued by Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
Construction of these projects will help provide better educational, health care, drinking water, agricultural products storage and cultural facilities to the local community. 4. Since 2003, India has taken up over 563 High Impact Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal.
