Foreign Minister Arzu Deuba Rana, who is currently on a five-day official visit to India, met with her Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar, in New Delhi on Monday.
After the meeting, Minister Rana expressed her belief that the visit would further strengthen the centuries-old bond between Nepal and India.
“During the meeting the two discussed mutual interest, various aspects of Nepal- India relations and mutual cooperation,” according to Foreign Ministry sources. “They also discussed about exchange of mutual cooperation and collaboration,” adds the Foreign Ministry.
“We discussed bilateral interests, various aspects of Nepal-India relations and the exchange of mutual cooperation,” Rana wrote on social media ‘X’.
This is Foreign Minister Rana’s first foreign trip after assuming the office on July 15.
Rana is expected to pay a courtesy call on Modi during the visit, according to sources close to Rana. She is also likely to hand over Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s invitation to the Indian prime minister to visit Nepal.
Foreign Minister Rana will return home on August 22 wrapping up the five day official visit.
