Nepal government has appointed Lila Devi Gadtaua as the chief secretary of the government. She has become the first female chief secretary of Nepal. As per the Prime Minister K.P. Oli’s proposal, the council of ministers’ meeting has promoted the acting chief secretary Gadtaula to the chief secretary of Nepal Government.

However, Gadtaula will retire from the post on August 30 due to her age limit of 58 years. She began her career in civil service in 1995 as a section officer.
