A library has been established at Nepali Congress central office at Sanepa in Lalitpur district on Sunday, July 21 marking the 42nd memorial day of B.P. Koirala, the first popularly elected Prime Minister of Nepal and founder leader of Nepali Congress. The library inaugurated by Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba can accommodate 32,000 books.
There are currently, 10,000 books and dozens of newspapers are on display in the library, which is open to all. The library has been built with a view to creating a study environment and to facilitate discussion and dialogue in the NC office, said Prakash Sharma, secretary at the NC central office. This will encourage youths, students and political workers to study books, he added.
Inaugurating the library NC President Deuba said, “you have to prove false the statement that Nepali Congress cadres and leaders have no enthusiasm for studying books.” B.P is not only a visionary leader but also a person with literary and psychological awareness, he added.
B.P. has played a great role not only in transforming politics and literature but he also possesses the capacity of transforming the society, he pointed out. There were thousands of cadres, leaders and sympathizers of NC during the library inauguration programme.
