Kikuta Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, called on Dr Arzu Rana, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, at Singha Durbar on Monday. During the meeting, Ambassador Kikuta handed over congratulatory letters from Japanese officials, including Japan’s Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to Dr Rana and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, according to Foreign Ministry sources.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with an emphasis on economic cooperation, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. Ambassador Kikuta underscored the significance of 2026, marking Nepal’s graduation from the Least Developed Country status and the 70th anniversary of Japan-Nepal diplomatic ties.
