Joshi grabs the title of ‘Kousi Queen’

Kausi Queen-2081 has been completed in Kathmandu with the aim of encouraging Kausi farming. Anjana Joshi has secred the title of Kausi Queen of the fourth edition. 

He was crowned the winner by Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Jwalakumari Sah at a function held at Hotel Aryal in Baneshwar on Sunday. This year’s Kosi Queen’s ‘First Runner Up’ Gangadevi Timalsina, ‘Second Runner Up’ Kamala Ghimire and ‘Third Runner Up’ Kamalmaya Shrestha. 

Secretary Rajendra Mishra, Head of Vegetable Crop Development Center Dinesh Prasad Sapkota, Head of Agriculture Knowledge Center Lalitpur Tej Prasad Dawadi and others jointly presented the award to them. Holokhabar.com, an online agriculture news website run by Pragyan Creations Pvt. Ltd., has been organizing Kausi Queen competition annually. 

More than 25 competitors from across Nepal took part in the competition. Manoj Shrestha, president of Pragyan Creation, said that along with increasing urbanization, programs are being organized to promote vegetable and fruit farming in the city’s kousis and to further encourage those who are doing kousi farming.
