Purnima Shrestha climbs Mt. Everest for second time in a week

Photo journalist Purnima Shrestha has made a record by successfully scaling Mt Everest twice within a week. She reached atop the world’s highest peak for the third time on Sunday 19th May at 3:05 am. She had conquered Everest eight days ago (on May 12) for the second time in her mountaineering career.

Photojournalist Shrestha, who has already summited a dozen mountain peaks in the world, had climbed Mt Everest in 2018 for the first time.

The May 12 ascent was her second time scaling the top of Mt. Everest.

Purnima climbed the world’s highest peak for the first time in 2018. On September 26, 2017, Shrestha successfully ascended the 8,163-meter-high Manaslu mountain which is also known as Killer Mountain. 

Purnima has been doing photojournalism for the past decade. She was born in Arughat, Gorkha District, and is a successful mountain climber. Purnima has climbed eight summits exceeding 8,000 meters, including Everest, K2, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna.”

With the start of spring season mountaineering, numerous climbers have successfully climbed Mount Everest.
