Wetland and human welbeing discussed

Land our Future and SchEMS College jointly organized a workshop on the occasion of Wetland Day on February 2, 2024.

Wetland conservation, management and sustainable utilization including the issues related with wetland were the major topics for discussion. During this interactive session, the student from the SchEMS college and the members of Land our Future highligheted the causes of wetland deterioration and its impacts on the ecosystem and environment.

Ajaya Mathema, the Principal of the Scheme College shed light on the different issues like environment degradation, sustainable land management, climate change, ecological restoration, biodiversity loss, pollution, green business, and some other emerging environment issue. He encouraged the participants to do some relevant research on wetland conservation and management.

Furthermore, Sunil Kumar Manandhar, former Environment Minister shared his knowledge and experience on the issue related with ecological restoration. However, the workshop provided a useful platform for the youths to enrich their knowledge and skills and share their ideas, concept and perception related with environment.
