Snow fall in Humla and Mustang

Snowfall has taken place in Humla district of Western Nepal from Monday morning. Normal life of the district has been badly affected due to increasing cold due to the snowfall.

The snowfall has been taking place at the lower belt along with Simkot and snow up to around one foot has piled up at the northern areas of the district, according a staff at a health post situated at NamKhal Rural Municipality.

There is biting cold at Namkha district due to the snowfall and problem has surfaced in movement of people following this, he said.

The air service has also been affected due to the snowfall and passengers heading out of the district have been stranded in Simkot, where four inches of snow can be visible.

However, farmers hear are happy with snowfall, as they hope, it would be good for different types of crops-wheat, barley and others.

Similarly, snowfall has also taken place in Mustang district for first time this season. The snowfall started since Monday morning. It is snowing in all areas including the surrounding s of the district headquarters, Jomsom, informed Ram Prasad Adhikari, the Assistant Chief District Officer.
