Nepal to play against Yemen to qualify for World Cup

Nepal is set to play against Yemen on Tuesday as part of the joint selection of FIFA World Cup 2026 second round and AFC Asia Cup 2027. The match is being held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar starting from 7:00 pm. Nepal is in Group H in the second round of World Cup Asia Qualifiers. The UAE, Bahrain and Yemen are the other three in the group. In the match held in Dubai on November 16, Nepal lost to UAE by 0-4 goals.

In the FIFA rankings, Nepal is ranked 173rd while Yemen is in the 156th position.

Earlier, Nepal defeated Laos in the first round of the World Cup qualifiers to qualify for the second round.
