A moderate earthquake has hit a mountainous region in Sudurpaschim province, including in Baitadi, situated in Far West Nepal Monday morning.
According to the Earthquake Measurement Centre Surkhet, an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale and with epicentre located at Batan, India, adjoining Darchula district was recorded at 9.26 am. The earthquake was felt in Baitadi and other adjoining districts. However, there was so far no reports of any damage caused by the tremor.
