NADA Auto Show 2023 commences from September 12

NADA (Automobiles Association of Nepal) is organizing the 15th edition of its automobile and accessories exhibition NADA Auto Show 2023′, scheduled to open from September 12 to 17 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall. ‘TATA Motors Genuine Oil is the banner sponsor of the automobile grand show in Nepal.

NADA President Dhruba Thapa, in a press meet organized recently, had mentioned that despite the ongoing economic slowdown, a significant number of participants from various automotive segments are participating in the exhibition. He, however, argued that the Government should take positively to address the need for appropriate1 commercial activities to stimulate the country’s economy where automobile business is one of the components.

Due to the current economic downturn and the central bank’s strict policies, the automobile industry has been badlyaffected. Consequently, thousands of vehicles are stuck in the customs offices.

NADA and automobile business community focusing the upcoming Bada Dashain and Tihar, the exhibition will offer new brands of lucrative lavish and common quality automobiles advanced technologies, financing options, business opportunities to the users.

The show this time will showcase 16 brands in the four-wheeler section, 22 brands in the two-wheeler section, and seven brands of light commercial vehicles. Likewise, the event will feature around 30 companies exhibiting lubricants, tyres, batteries, garage equipment, and other auto components, along with the participation of nine financial institutions.

The automobile exhibition this time has been focused more on electric vehicles. The EVs made in China and India will attract the visitors. The top sold brands like Tata Nexon and Tiago Hyundai Kona and Ionic, BYD’s e6 and Atto3, MG’s ZS, Hozon’s NETA, ORA will be showcased Likewise Henery and Raysince also be there. New brands like BYD’s Dolphin, MG’s Comet, Tata Tiago, Mahindra ev xuv400, Citron ec300, Seres, Wuling, City Spirit and some others will also be there to see and buy for the choicest one for private use. A number of stylistic electric motorcycles and scooters will also be displayed to attract and replace the fossil fuel driven two-wheel vehicles. There will be some 11 to 15 seater electric vans like King Long, DFSK, Joy Long as EVs for public transportation. These vans have been servicing to some short routes successfully – both beneficial for users and service providers.

Probably, mini bus and buses will not appear thereto draw attention of policy makers and private transport service entrepreneurs. The high cost of this segment of vehicles and lack of appropriates rule and supports that the Government has been the hindrances.

For visitors’ convenience, the show will be segmented into four-wheeler section, two-wheeler section, light commercial vehicles section, auto components section, and financial institutions section. To ease transportation, a shuttle bus service supported by Mahanagar Yatayat will run from public parking spaces such as Kathmandu Mall, Sainik Kalyankari Bhawan, and Bus Park View Tower to and from the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall. Moreover, an online ticketing system through the Khalti app has been introduced to streamline entry and minimise rush at the entrance to enhance visitors’ experience.

The NADA Auto Show 2023 is expected to attract around 75,000 visitors over the six-day event.
