How long did you take to write the book ‘Prerana and Safalta’ ?It took me one and a half months to write this book. The book was prepared during the first lockdown. However, it took some time to find a publisher and an editor for the book.
What kind of contents are included in this book?
Mainly success formulas are included in this book. It consists of my experiences and the stories of 70 world-famous inspirational people. Similarly, some excerpts of Ramayana, Mahabharata and that said by Chanakya are also included. One can find the book useful in finding the ways to reach a success.
I write books specifically targeting teenagers. I have authored the book with the idea of providing a useful book for students of grades 11 and 12. This book can help to some extent find ways to achieve goals in life. There are other books in the market written with the same concept. However, they are not enough.
Why is it important for students to read the book ?
If you want to get a good job, it is enough to read only the course books. If you want to do business, acquire skills and knowledge, it is necessary to study books outside the course books.
The book ‘Inspiration and Success’ helps you know yourself. It gives knowledge on how to set a goal in life and move on. I won’t say that this book will change your entire life. But it will benefit everyone if things in the book can be implemented.
It is necessary to make the young generation talented. The population of China is higher than the United States. But why America is more powerful? Because every citizen is capable there. They are talented. It is my wish that the youth of Nepal also become talented.
What kind of books should teenagers read?
In my opinion, first of all, you should read about health and lifestyle. After that, it is necessary to study about nationality, geography and history of your country.
I recommend books like Khaptad Swami’s ‘Science of Thought’, Joseph Murphy’s ‘Power of Subconscious Mind’, Eckhart Tolle’s ‘The Power of Now’, Robert T. Kiyosaki’s ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’, Stephen Covey’s ‘Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’, James Clear’s ‘Atomic Habits’. A good book can change people’s lifestyle.
What do you see the young generation of today lack?
People get confused when they don’t set a goal. I see that confusion. It seems as if Nepali people have forgotten their own language. Being a Nepali, you have to know your mother tongue. This is our identity. If you have knowledge of the language, knowledge of the subject, knowledge of technology, it helps have a milestone to move forward in the present time. After knowing your own language, it also requires to know other languages. A tree without roots cannot get bigger. Like the deeper the roots of the Peepal tree go, the taller it grows. And it lives longer.
The youth should have the confidence that I can and will do it. You should be able to use your subconscious mind. Napoleon Bonaparte’s mother instilled in his mind that anything is possible. One should not stop thinking about positive things at any time. Ordinary people can also become exemplary in life. Life is a struggle. Success without struggle is not worthy.
Who has influenced and inspired you the most?
It is difficult to pick one person. I like Abraham Lincoln as a leader and Maxim Gorky as a writer. Maxim Gorky got a chance to study only up to third grades. However, he became one of the greatest writers in the world. Although I cannot become a great writer like Gorky, I feel like I can be like a little Gorky. I consider Lenin to be the greatest leader of the world. I take inspiration from Gautama Buddha of Nepal. In my family, I am inspired by my grandmother and grandfather.
You have spent a decade and a half in the teaching profession. How was your experience?
I am proud of the teaching profession. I was attracted to the profession while learning new things for self-updation. I have a habit of waking up early in the morning. In order to go to the class and teach, I have to study first. In that sense, I like the teaching profession.
What message do you want to convey to young students?
Read the history of the country you are living in. No person becomes successful without reading. Study formally or informally. Do what you like. Otherwise, you cannot move ahead.
You cannot be modern if you stopped learning. Improving yourself means improving the country. One should think that if I deteriorate, the country will also deteriorate. Do not stop learning. Keep learning. Life is full of struggle. One should fall back. People surely get a success sooner or later.
