Message from KYC 23: ‘Youths you can do something within the country’

To inspire, empower, and guide the youth towards contributing to the nation’s development, Universal College and Phoenix College of Management organised the fourth edition of the Kathmandu Youth Conclave at Nepal Academy hall in Kamaladi, Kathmandu on Saturday. The theme of Kathmandu Youth Conclave 2023 was ”Inspiring Youth, Leading the Nation”.

Dr. Sanduk Ruit, a renowned Ophthalmologist, was the chief guest at the programme. Keynote speakers at the programme included luminaries such as Santosh Shah, a award winning Chef; Mira Rai, a Runner; Jabbor Kayumov, the CEO of Ncell; Bhumika Shrestha, a third gender activist; Jagdish Khadka, the CEO of eSewa; and Rupesvara Gaura Das, a Motivational Speaker among others.

Musician and singer Neetesh Jung Thapa, Rapper Mahesh Dong, singer and song writer Samir Shrestha, and comedian Sajan Shrestha, made their interesting presentations at the conclave.

The speakers shared their success stories, provided guidance, and imparted knowledge to the audience, mostly boys and girls from college, encouraged them to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on society.

In the conclave, a prize of 1 lakh rupees was handed over to the successful Nepali PUBG team DRS to highlight the potential of e-sport in Nepal.

Dr. Ruit shared his journey and struggle in life. “Colleagues from Tilganga have worked as far afield as North Korea, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia and Ghana,” remarked Dr. Ruit. ”Without team work it is not possible to reach here,” he pointed out.

KYC has established itself as one of the largest and most influential youthcentric symposiums in Nepal. Kathmandu Youth Conclave is among the biggest national youthcentric leadership events organized by educational institutions. The day long programme attracted more than 2,000 audience. The programme was aimed at spreading the message that the youths can do something within their own country.
