Winners of NC’s Policy Hackathon announced

The final program of Policy Hackathon organized by the Nepali Congress concluded at the central office of the Nepali Congress, Sanepa on Saturday. During the hackathon, group of Mandeep, Amit and Biplavi.

After listening to the concepts presented by the best 10 groups participating in the Hryakathon on Saturday, the jury announced the winners. Out of them, the group of Mandeep Subedi, Amit Khanal and Biplavi Neupane, who prepared a concept paper on the topic of Empowering Nepal’s Gig Economy: A Comprehensive Approach to Worker Classification, Social Protection and Regulation” became the winner. They received a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh Similarly, the group of Sadiksha Silwal, Swikriti Katuwal and Milanjung Katuwal, who prepared a policy paper Sustainable Social Security Protection for GIG Worker’  stood second and the group of Aishwarya Shrestha, Soumya Pahadi, Upendra Amatya with the concept paper Harnessing Aquifers Recharging Ground Waters in Cities of Nepal became the third.

The second and third prize winners received certificates of appreciation with cash of Rs 150,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba distributed awards to the winners. On the occasion General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar addressed the programme. In total 227 teams participated in the competition.
