Sakina Maharjan has been declared the winner of the Miss Newa Nepal – 1143 pageant. She received a trophy and a cash prize of one lakh rupees. She also won the Miss Personality title award.
At the same event, Ridhisha Shrestha bagged the first runner-up prize and received a purse of Rs. 25,000 along with the Public Choice title award. Minasha Maharjan became the second runner up and bagged a cash prize of Rs. 15,000.
The event was organized by the Nepalese Fashion Home led by Hema Manandhar. It programme was organized at Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu on Saturday. The contestants put on dresses designed by students from Namuna College of Fashion Technology.
The event was attended by Sunita Dongol, the deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who is also the former Miss Newa. The fashion choreographer and media personality, Rojin Shakya, choreographed and hosted the event. Krisha Maharjan coordinated the event while Raju Napit provided instruction on Nepal Bhasa and Newari culture.
There were various title awards given out at the event: Kristi Prajapati won Miss Talent and Photogenic, Tulsi Kansakar was the first runner-up in the talent category, and Ritika Shrestha was the second runner-up. Anshu Prajapati won the Best Nepal Bhasa award, and Timila Maharjan received the Social Welfare Ambassador Chief award.
In the Social Welfare Ambassador category, Subita Deula was the first runner-up, and Avisha Kapali was the second runner-up. Avisha also won the Miss Friendship award.
Other awards included Adrina Shrestha for Best Dress, Khushi Dongol for Miss Culture, Sichhu Manandhar for Best Skin, Tulsa Prajapati for Best Hair and Best Smile, Unisha Maharjan for Miss Charming, and Rojina Maharjan for Miss Discipline.
