Nepali and Norwegian climbers set record of climbing 14 peaks in 92 days –  ThePrint – ANIFeed

Norwegian climber Kristin Harila, Norwegian mountaineer and Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa, Nepali climber, on Thursday succeeded in setting a new world recording by scaling 14 peaks above 8,000 metre within three month’s period. They reached atop the world’s second highest peak Mt. K2 situated in Pakistan completing their 14 8000ers in just 92 days, according to Mingma Sherpa, the chairman of Seven Summit Treks, that organized the expedition.

Sherpa along with Norwegian national Kristin reached atop the 8,611 metre peak, the world’s second highest mountain at around 11:30 am Nepal time on July 27, the chairman of the Seven Summit Treks told PTI over phone. “They set the record of becoming the fastest climbers to complete 14 peaks above 8,000m.

They have beaten another famous climber Nirmal Purja, who climbed all 14 eight thousanders in than 6 month and six days. They have climbed Mt. Everest on May 29. Other mountains above eight thousand metres they conquered include Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Kanchanjunga, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Shisapangma, Mt. Annapurna, Nagar Parvat, G- 1, G – 2 and Broad Peak.
